Felix Magath Pleased With Four-Goal Wolfsburg Haul

It was a good day for the Wolves as they notched up three points and improved their goal difference at the same time with a 4-0 win over HoffenheimWolfsburg took another step towards the Bundesliga title with a 4-0 home win over a Hoffenheim side on the decline. A goalless first 45 minutes was changed in the second with an Edin Dzeko hat-trick and Grafite’s 32nd goal of the season.

The win sees the Wolves go three points clear of Bayern Munich in second and has taken their goal difference to +30.

“The start was a little restless,” trainer Felix Magath said after the game.  “Thanks to [Diego] Benaglio we didn’t go behind though. We should really have taken the lead ourselves in the first half.

“With the 1-0 lead after an hour, the game was all but decided in our favour as Hoffenheim then dropped a gear. That we were then able to improve our goal difference was of course pleasing.”

Dzeko was also extremely pleased with his goalscoring display, which saw him take his season’s tally to 19.

“That is my first hat-trick since I turned professional. Of course it is a totally crazy feeling,” the Bosnian said following the final whistle.

“We can be very pleased today to have won so convincingly because we made it difficult for ourselves in the first half and Hoffenheim had a few good chances.

“Despite the joy, we are already preparing for Stuttgart next week.”
