Michael Ballack Wants Guus Hiddink To Stay At Chelsea

The Dutchman must stay, according to the GermanChelsea midfielder Michael Ballack is adamant that temporary Blues manager Guus Hiddink, currently combining an interim role at Stamford Bridge with coaching the Russian national team, must stay at the club beyond the expiration of his current temporary deal.

The Dutchman continues to maintain that he will return to his role with Russia full-time at the end of the season, however successful or unsuccessful he has been in west London, but Ballack, seemingly like many others in the Blues squad, wants the Dutchman to remain at the helm for next season.

“Of course we would like him to stay,” the German international told The Daily Mail.

“It is amazing what he has done in this short period. We look very strong at the moment and we would be disappointed if he left now.”

Chelsea recorded another victory yesterday, and continued to keep the pressure on Liverpool and Manchester United in the race for the Premier League crown, although they made hard work of it.

After surging into a 4-0 lead at home to Gary Megson’s Bolton Wanderers, the Blues were forced to endure a late Bolton barrage as the Trotters pulled things back to 4-3, and came close to levelling matters with a late Gary Cahill effort.
