The Chiefs and people of Cape Coast in the Central Region in collaboration with the Central Regional Co-ordinating Council is to honour President Prof John Evans Atta Mills on Saturday for being the first person from the region to be elected as President of the country.
According to a source, all is set for the program to be held at the Victoria Park in Cape Coast.
President Mills, who will arrive in Cape Coast on Friday, will be met on arrival by a number of people in the area at Moree Junction amidst drumming and dancing through the principal streets of Cape Coast.
Prof Mills will later go to the Oguaa Traditional Council to pay a curtsey call on the Omanhen of Oguaa Traditional Council, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II.
DAILY GUIDE has gathered that Prof Mills, during his campaign tour last year, pleaded with the Chiefs to pray for him to win the election, hence the need to thank them. ÂÂ
Activities marking the program include inspection of the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, Kotokuraba Market, GETFund projects at Cape Coast Polytechnic and University of Cape Coast as well as street carnival.
A church service to crown his visit will be held at the Adisadel Pentecost Church.
