THE CHURCH of Pentecost, Koforidua Area Head, Apostle S.K. Ofosu has called on Christians to work harder in their assigned responsibilities both in the church and in their respective places of secular employment.
According to him, reward or motivation does not just come on a silver platter but through hard work, discipline, training and a recognition that one’s contribution can help bring about progress.
He added that though at times it might appear no one is taking notice of such relentless efforts, the call is that whatever work is being done is unto the Lord.
Apostle S.K. Ofosu said this in a sermon he preached to the members of the 22 local assemblies forming the Aburi District in the Akwapim South District of the Eastern Region.
The Apostle did not mince words when he cautioned the congregation against practices that are likely to throw the good image of the church into disrepute.
He said for example that the rewards which a footballer or athlete receives after a tournament are the result of what the judges have taken pains to observe the winners during the contest.
He explained that it takes self-denial to achieve one’s goals and appealed to the congregation not to consider their challenging times but strive to work so that the divine crowns of righteousness and eternal life would be received by all.
Apostle S.K. Ofosu was later conducted round the ultra modern 3,000 capacity worship centre project under construction, by Rev. James Ayim, the District Pastor.
