Lukas Podolski says that he fully expected to become even more marginalised at Bayern Munich following his decision to return to Koeln next season.
The 23-year-old Germany international has had to get all too familiar with the Bayern bench this season, but in the recent games since his €10 million return to Cologne has been confirmed he has suffered the indignity of being left off the matchday squad completely.
“I am definitely disappointed about being left out for the Berlin fixture,” Podolski confessed to the Cologne Express.
“But the decision from the manager was no surprise to me. All I am able to point out is that I am back at full fitness for quite some time now and I would have also been fit enough to take part.”
Podolski concluded by saying that he has “no interest” in playing for Bayern’s reserve team.
