Wrexham manager Dean Saunders has revealed that he is on the verge of sealing the signature of Ghanaian defender Christian Gyan after a successful trial spell.
The 30-year-old former Feyenoord player has spent the last two weeks at the Racecourse Ground and Saunders sees him as a perfect addition to his play-off chasing squad.
Saunders told the Daily Post: “We are close to agreeing a deal that will see Christian stay until the end of the season.
“He is a quality player who is equally at home at right back or in the centre of midfield and he has the experience we need.
“Sometimes you need an old head in the spine of the team, someone who is able to complement the youth and enthusiasm of younger players around him.
“Christian played for Feyenoord for 10 years and we are very lucky to get him on board.”
Gyan is not expected to feature in Wrexham’s clash with Northwich Victoria at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday night.
