Ghana’s Under-20 coach Sellas Tetteh has asked his side to go for the African Youth Championship after sealing a World Cup qualification ticket over the weekend.
Tetteh will have the fulfil this dream by beating South Africa on Wednesday in the second semi-final match.
“Winning a ticket to feature in the Fifa U-20 World Cup will motivate my players to yearn for more success in the semi-final of this championship.
“We have played good football in the group stage and I hope to maintain the momentum going in the semi-final,” Tetteh said.
Tetteh believes his side has shown characteristics of a championship winning side.
“I have a team which is patient and disciplined and they have to maintain this attitude if we are to lift the title.
“We will come up against any team in the semi-finals with a lot of confidence and belief.”
Ghana last won the Africa Youth Championship in 1999 on home soil and truimphed at the 1993 edition in Mauritius. ÂÂ
