Asempa FM Wins Award

Nana Bobie AnsahAsempa FM has been adjudged the best local radio station which used the Akan language to broadcast events before, during and after the December 2008 general elections.

The award was presented to the station at a ceremony in Accra by the Ghana National Honorary Awards of Fame where a citation read made mention of ASEMPA FM´s ability to promote, among others, an innovative and independent political news presentation, effective participation in electoral supervision as well as monitoring before, during and after the December 7th elections and the run-off on December 28th.

The awards ceremony was organised by the Ghana National Honorary Awards of Fame, an agency of the Country Awards Council – Ghana (CACG).

Immediate-past Minister of Health, Major Courage Quashigah (rtd), who is also the Vice Patron of the Board of Governors and Chairman of the Board of Governors of CACG, was presented with an award for his service to humanity over the last three decades.

He urged recipients of awards to resolve to be time-conscious in order to move the nation forward.
