Opeele quits Tema Youth

Opeele quits Tema Youth Tema Youth coach Isaac Opeele Boateng has terminated his contract with the club and joined champions Asante Kotoko.

The former Hasaacas and Kessben FC coach agreed personal terms with the Porcupine Warriors on Monday and expected to start work as an assistant coach to Belgian trainer Maurice Cooreman the next day.

Chairman of the Tema-based club told Ghanasoccernet.com his departure was anticipated:” I must say that over the period his behavoiur has been quiet erratic and when that happens you have to prepare for the worst.”

“He’s been a very good coach and I must say the position we occupy speaks for itself and what we will try and do with the incoming coach is to maintain the momentum,” Winfred Osei-Parma.

“The replacement should not be somebody who’s just trying to fill up the vacuum created.

“It will depend on how we handle the process that will be a blow for us.”

Tema Youth are now second on the Glo Premier League table, their best start in three seasons.

With Opeele’s move, it will mean assistant coach Johnson Smith will be relieved off his post.
