Ghana international goalkeeper William Amamoo has denied that he has quit top flight Egyptian club Ettisalat in a bid to move to Europe.
Two clubs in Europe are keen on signing the shot-stopper after impressing in his two seasons with the north African club.
Norwegian side Fredrikstad as well as Swedish giants Djurgarden are reported to be in talks with the Ghanaian over a deal.
This prompted media reports that the goalkeeper, who is the club’s first-choice, has left the Egyptian club but Amamoo insists he is still at post.
“I have not left Ettisalat. These reports in the media are false because I am still here with my club in Egypt,” Amamoo told Ghanasoccernet.
“Indeed there are two clubs in Europe who we are talking with but nothing concrete has been reached yet.
“And even under those circumstances my club is involved in the talks so for that simple reason I couldn’t have quit my club.
“Such reports would only lead to the suspicion from my club that I am using unorthodox means to leave them.
“I am a principled guy and wouldn’t do anything like this. Ettisalat rely on me and until and unless we reach an agreement I am still their player.”
Amamoo has been impressive for Ettisalat which is not only attracting interest from clubs in Egypt but also in Europe.
