Thugs Attack Nana

The destroyed NPP billboard BILLBOARDS WITH portraits of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the just ended polls have been destroyed by thugs suspected to belong to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kumasi.

The unfortunate development, according to reports, took place immediately the result of the polls was announced.

The destruction of the billboards was done in almost every part of the city deemed the stronghold of the NPP, including those at the Asafo Interchange in the Subin constituency.

However NDC billboards with portraits of President Atta Mills have not been touched by NPP supporters in the city.

Meanwhile Lawyer Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John, the Communications Director of the NPP 2008 Campaign Team, has vehemently condemned the act.

He stated that such acts, if not checked, could create anarchy and further polarise the nation, appealing to the NDC hoodlums to stop the act to let peace prevail.

The NPP, he noted, spent huge amounts of money to produce the billboards and urged the hierarchy of the NDC to caution their supporters from carrying out such acts in the future.

The country, he said, needs peace to progress and therefore admonished the citizenry to accommodate one another and respect the laws of the land.
