Ghana and Kaizer Chiefs defender Jonathan Quartey has arrived in England to hold a two-week trial with Championship side Bristol City.
The South Africa-based player, who has been in impressive form of late, has attracted the interest of several Europe clubs, including Red Star Belgrade.
The Robins are looking to bolster their defence and advance from 13th position in the league table.
Chiefs, meanwhile, revealed they would not stop the 20-year-old from joining City.
Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung said: “Jonathan left the country last night for a week trial with Bristol City.
“The club is looking for two defenders and they approached us about the player.
“It is not our policy to stand in the player’s way when an overseas opportunity comes up. Jonathan has shown a lot of potential as a player since joining the team last season.
“His call up to the Black Stars was a testimony of his talent. We wish him all the best during the trial.”
Quartey excelled in reccent matcches for the Black Stars comfortably pairing with experienced defender John Mensah.
