Addo counts Roda benefits

ADDO WANTS TO BE FIT FOR GHANABlack Stars defender Eric Addo has already begun counting his benefits from his loan move to relegation-threatened Roda JC Kerkrade from PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie.

The 30-year-old requested to be farmed out after struggling to command a place in the PSV set-up.

“I do not have a chance to play,” said Addo in the PSV website. “I must therefore make this choice.

“For me it is important that I go play. Everything is fine with me, and I am very happy to PSV. But I play the last months.

“It is a difficult step for me, but not playing is not fun. In Ghana, a key period and I have to fit. “

“The most important thing is that I should play. But Roda JC is a great club. I am ready, and it is a good club to play football.

“I always have fun in the training, make jokes with the boys,” he continued

PSV could understand the desire of Addo.

“It is a desire for more of Eric minutes to play,” said coach Huub Stevens.

“I think it is understandable. He’s been many years at PSV, but may not be the final step to the base.

“I am sorry if he goes, because you lose it a professional guy. But we do not begrudge him and have a lot of alternatives in that position. “
