Agogo makes Zamalek return

Agogo returns after holidays in EnglandZamalek striker Junior Agogo is back training after spending Christmas holidays in England to provide a much-needed boost for the team’s frontline ahead of the Cairo derby. The White Knights granted the Ghana international a permission to have a one-week holiday despite their domestic commitments.

In his absence, Zamalek suffered a stunning exit from the Egyptian Cup after a 1-0 defeat to third-division side Bani Obeid in the competition’s round of 32. Many pundits criticized Zamalek’s decision to accept Agogo’s holiday request.

The Ghana striker has now joined the Cairo giants’ training as they prepare for the Egyptian Premier League clash against Ahli on January 11th, the club said on their website. Agogo is considered as Zamalek’s only reliable striker as trio Sherif Ashraf, Abdul-Halim Ali and Mostafa Gaafar failed to impress in another disappointing season.
