Nigerian striker Peter Odemwingie has said that Nigeria can emulate Ghana’s exploits in the 2010 World Cup next month in Brazil.
Nigeria finds itself in Group F of the World Cup, where they will come up against Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran.
In an interview with The Guardian , Odemwingie said: “I look at Ghana in the last World Cup and they almost got to the semi-final and if you look at the names of the players, they’re not any better than our team we have today.”
“They succeeded with their work ethic, with their determination, and Asamoah Gyan was in good form. So hopefully we can better our previous outings.”
The 32-year old is part of Nigeria’s squad for the World Cup after a long absence from the squad after a fall-out with Stephen Keshi.
