If there’s something strange, in your neighborhood — who ya gonna call?
Not Ivan Reitman, that’s for damned sure!!!
Sony announced that the 67-year-old Ghostbusters & Ghostbusters 2 director will step aside and let someone else direct the franchise’s much-anticipated third installment!
The studio hasn’t yet chosen a replacement, but Ivan will stay attached to the film as a producer so there’s a chance he will be involved in the selection process!
Though shooting is expected to begin in early 2015, the script reportedly still needs to be tweaked to account for the unfortunate death of Harold Ramis in February.
Ghostbusters 3 is expected to be more of a reboot than a sequel, but Dan Akroyd — who wrote and starred in the original — is still expected to have at least a cameo.
And what of Bill Murray?
Apparently the legendary actor will NOT appear in the film, perhaps because he crossed streams with other cast members in the past!
Aww! Still, we can’t wait to see the new installment!
