Chelsea Handler Is Leaving E! In Nine Months! What Will Happen To Chelsea Lately?!

Chelsea Handler will part ways with E!

Don’t worry, folks! The show must, and WILL go on!

Chelsea Handler’s manager Irving Azoff has announced that the talk show host plans to leave E! in nine months when her contract is up, after being with the network for eight years.

On Howard Stern‘s show earlier this month, the 39-year-old jokester said that the network was “a sad, sad place to live.” She went on to explain:

“They don’t know what they’re doing. They have no ideas. It’s a failure.”

That’s pretty harsh!

As for where Chelsea Lately will end up, that’s in the air. However, one source explained that Miz Handler’s recent comments against her network could end up hurting her chances.

Another source said that Chelsea may not be able to find anyone else to pay her $9 million a year either!

BUT Azoff says the evidence is to the contrary. According to The Hollywood Reporter:

“[Azoff’s] numbers show that Chelsea Lately consistently has built on its lead-in and that this year, her show is averaging a 67 percent increase in viewers over that lead-in, the largest build in the show’s eight-year run. His data also shows her audience is more female than the competitors on any network and younger, with the exception of Conan O’Brien on TBS (though the data for NBC’s Tonight Show predates Jimmy Fallon‘s stint as host).”

That sounds promising! And Azoff added that there are “at least seven suitors” looking to house the show.

In addition to CL, Chelsea is promoting her New York Times best-seller Uganda be Kidding Me and is shooting her first stand-up special in October.

In terms of what kind of show Miz Handler would want, well, she’s said a Netflix forum would be her favorite.
