Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that late Supreme Court Jurist, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa was a remarkable jurist and was the “Socrates of the Supreme Court.”
Atiku was paying tribute to the extraordinary jurist and said that his death was equivocal to the nation’s judicial iroko tree losing a branch.
He described the late Oputa as a man of profound knowledge, saying that’s why he was called the “Socrates of the Supreme Court.”
HE said for Oputa to earn the respect of all his colleagues, was a demonstration of his erudition and colossal stature.
Atiku said Oputa was a giant of law not only in Nigeria, but also in Africa.
