Watchman remanded for supplying narcotic drugs
He has been remanded into Police custody to reappear before the court on October 23.
Detective Inspector Issac Agbemehia said on October 17, personnel of the narcotic unit undertook their usual anti-narcotic drug operation in the Accra metropolis.
He said the team visited a spot at Timber market near Kokomba market.
Detective Inspector Agbemehia said while there, some personnel were asked to keep watch over the operational vehicles which were then parked in the yard of the Ayalolo Cluster of Schools.
He said the officers later saw one Aminu Malik in an uncompleted building whose movement became suspicious and attracted their attention.
The prosecution said the team drew closer to the scene and begun to smell the scent of cannabis, found a bag in front of Aminu and a search conducted revealed 54 similar wraps of substance.
He said Aminu mentioned the accused person Abdul Aziz as the owner of the substance. He was arrested and he claimed ownership of the substance.
Detective Inspector Agbemehia said in his cautioned statement, the accused stated that he bought the cannabis at Sodom and Gommora for sale.
