Vipers, Astronomers Demand Share Of Transfer Proceeds Of Rashid Sumaila’s Sale To Sundowns
Venomous Vipers and Astronomers FC have jointly written to the Ghana FA seeking their percentage of the transfer amount realized from the sale of Rashid Sumaila to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The lower tier clubs insist they are owed a percentage in developmental fees by Ebusua Dwarfs for the sale of the Ghana defender to the South African club.
Sumaila joined Sundowns last month haven excelled on loan at Asante Kotoko – where he helped the Porcupine Warriors retain their Premier League title.
The transfer fee involved in the sale of the central defender remains undisclosed.
But the two lower tier clubs have now written to the Ghana FA to help retrieve their share of the transfer proceeds received after failed attempts to get their money from Dwarfs.
‘We have served two separate letters to the Ghana FA’s general secretary and the other one to the President,’ Viper Chief Executive Aggrey Fynn told Accra-based Hot FM.
‘Dwarfs want to cheat us. They have given all other related bodies their percentage without giving Vipers their due.
‘We have waited since December but nothing has been forthcoming.
‘It is not Vipers alone, Astronomers are also included and we are seeking our pound of flesh from the transfer amount accruing from the sale of Rashid Sumaila.’
