Tunisia: Ben Jaafar Announces Intention to Convene NCA Bureau to a Meeting Next Week
Tunis — National Constituent Assembly (NCA) President Mustapha Ben Jaafar announced, on Wednesday evening, his intention to convene the NCA bureau to a meeting next week and called the dissident deputies to retake their seats to finish off Constitution drafting and crown with success the democratic construction process.
Addressing the Tunisian people on Al-Wataniya 1 TV channel, he also called the sponsors of dialogue to organise by the end of the week, of a round table with the participation of the various political formations. “
There is no pretext to the failure of this dialogue, notably in light of the rapprochement of positions between the various political protagonists,” he pointed out.
“There is no doubt about the start of dialogue,” he assured, calling in this regard, political leaders to put their differences aside, do the necessary concessions and start dialogue without compelling conditions. “I will continue to bridge the various views to reach solutions,” he promised.
“If dialogue starts today, October 10, we will manage to form a new government, adopt the Constitution and guarantee the forthcoming elections process,” he concluded.
