Transfer News: Chelsea plan Pogba raid

Chelsea are preparing a bid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Blues have made the French midfielder a top target as they prioritise a central midfield partner for January signing Nemanja Matic, , according to  Goal .

Jose Mourinho’s side is planning to use the £40m they raked in from the sale of David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain to part-fund the deal.

Mourinho is convinced that the France international, 21, will develop into one of the world’s finest midfielders and can be a driving force for Chelsea next season.

Juventus are said to be keen to keep hold of Pogba, but could reportedly be swayed by a bid in the region of £65m.

Chelsea will table an offer for Pogba after Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa’s proposed £35 move to Stamford Bridge has been finalised.

Pogba joined Juventus from Manchester United on a free transfer in 2012.
