CEO of Surfline addressing the gathering
Surfline Communications Limited (SCL), a mobile broadband data connectivity company, made history last Friday when it launched its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network experience onto the Ghanaian market.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Dr. Akoto, mentioned that the company was established in 2011 to provide broadband connectivity to Ghanaians, adding that his outfit also provides the fastest internet service.
Dr. Akoto said his outfit had partnered Microsoft Ghana, Oracle, Alcatel, Tech Mahindra, International Business Machines (IBM) and Ecobank.
Indicating that SCL was the first Ghanaian-owned mobile broadband connectivity company in Africa, he urged prospective clients to join a truly indigenous company.
The Managing Director of Ecobank, Samuel Ashitey Adjei, in a speech, acknowledged LTE as the fastest and largest network and hoped that the partnership would help boost the health, education, agriculture and finance sectors.
He said Ecobank was committed to building a world-class pan-African bank to advance Ghanaians’ approach to business.
A representative of Microsoft Ghana, who was at the event, also pledged the company’s undying support to Surfline’s 4G network.
Ms. Yirenkyi said that the objective of Microsoft Ghana is to empower more individuals and corporations in Ghana to do more.
She explained that the new 4Gexperience would provide Ghanaians with faster access to the internet, and help them to share and watch large files in High Definition (HD), as well as do multi tasks.
She said that they would depend on feedback from their clients to improve the service.
Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur, who was the guest of honour at the launch, called on Ghanaian businesses to take advantage of the 4G LTE product introduced by Surfline.
Access to information opens creates new opportunities in the finance, health, education and agriculture sectors by enhancing efficiency and competitiveness, he said.
