Sulley Muntari Grovels To Ghana Coach Kwesi Appiah; Set To Be Named For Zambia Clash
Sulley Muntari has written an apology letter to Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah after launching a tirade following his substitution in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in June.
Contents of his letter read: ‘I write this letter to render my sincere apologies to the Management, Technical Team and the entire players of the Black Stars for my after the Lesotho/Ghana match which was played in Maseru on Sunday, 17th June 2013.
‘I wish to state that this unfortunate incident will not happen again.’
The experienced midfielder has enhanced his chances of being named in the squad to face Zambia next month in the final qualifier.
The AC Milan ace questioned why he was hooked in the 64th minute and replaced by Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu in the 2-0 win at Lesotho.
He refused to sit on the bench and walked straight into the dressing looking extremely furious.
Muntari latter admitted he confronted the coach in the locker room but claimed that it was not a disrespectful act.
Reports claimed the 28-year-old used foul language and that his international career was over if he did not render an apology.
