Micheal Essien, INSET: Samuel Inkoom and Harrison Afful
Ghana’s Black Stars are expected to make a giant entry to the land of soccer, Brazil, tomorrow ahead of Thursday’s big kick off.
The Black Stars round up their preparations for the Mundial with their South Korean counterparts this evening, kick off 11:00pm, after pitching camp in the US.
A close source from the team’s Miami camp indicate that all is set for the team to depart for Natal where they would cross swords with their American counterparts on June 16 for their opening Group game.
Youth and Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah arrived home from Natal yesterday to put finishing touches to the team and Ghana’s contingent accommodation and other logistics needs.
The Black Stars are expected to make amends in this evening preparatory exercise after putting up a not-too-impressive performance against their Netherlands counterparts two Saturdays ago.
Reports from Miami also indicated that the team has peaked in performance from the time they faced the Netherlands.
So far, the team has no injury concerns and would have six clear days ahead to acclimatise to face a side they have met in the same competition for the third time.
Ghana is pitted against Jurgen Klingmann’s USA, Germany and Portugal in Group G.
