Group A
Olympiacos 4-2 Malmo
David Fuster, Alejandro Dominiguez, Kostas Mitroglou and Ibrahim Afellay were among the goals for Olympiacos in their victory over Malmo.
Simon Kroon and captain Markus Rosenberg hit back for the visitors. Malmo’s Enock Adu was sent off for a second bookable offence in the closing stages, but there was no stopping the Greek champions from victory at that moment.
Juventus 0-0 Atletico
Juventus secured runners-up berth with a goalless draw against group winners Atletico Madrid at Olympiacos’ expense.
Group B
Liverpool 1-1 Basel
Ten-man Liverpool were relegated from the Uefa Champions League to the Europa League after Basel carted home a 1-1 draw at Anfield.
Fabian Frei fired the Swiss visitors ahead after 25 minutes, silencing the Merseyside crowd.
Liverpool struggled to get in the game and Lazar Markovic was shown red card in the hour for throwing an arm at Behrang Safari.
Captain Steven Gerrard stepped up to fire home a curling free-kick to increase his Champions League goals to 30, but every effort for another dramatic Anfield comeback failed to materialise.
Basel are through to the last 16 as the group’s second-best team behind winners Real Madrid.
Real Madrid 4-0 Ludogorets
Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Real’s win against Ludogorets, scoring from the penalty spot, before Gareth Bale, Alvaro Arbeloa and Alvaro Medran completed scoring.
Ludogorets’ Marcelinho saw red on 20 minutes, paving way for Ronaldo to step up and convert his 71st Champions League goal- surpassing Raul’s achievement on the all-time goalscorers’ list.
Madrid, thus, set a new Spanish record of 19 consecutive victories with their routine triumph. The reigning champions also becomes the first side to win all six group stage games.
Group C
Monaco 2-0 Zenit
Monaco claimed group’s dominance with victory at home to Zenit St-Petersburg. Defender Aymen Abdennour’s and Fabinho’s strikes in the second half saw the principality club overhaul Bayer Leverkusen into top spot.
Benfica 0-0 Leverkusen
Leverkusen were forced to a frustrating stalemate at Benfica, thereby relinquishing top spot to Monaco due to their inability to break deadlock.
Group D
Galatasaray 1-4 Arsenal
Arsenal rebounded with an emphatic victory against Galatasaray in Istanbul, but eventually rounded off second in their pool.
Aaaron Ramsey, who previously ended his 17-match goal drought with a strike in the weekend’s 3-2 defeat by Stoke City, continued from where he left off with two goals in 16 first-half minutes.
Lukaks Podolski opened scoring after three minutes and added his second of the night with a stoppage time strike.
Wesley Sneijder grabbed Gala’s consolation, as the home side ended the group stage with just a point from six games.
Dortmund 1-1 Anderlecht
Ciro Immobile’s goal ensured Dortmund sealed poll position despite Dortmund’s 1-1 draw at home against Anderlecht.
The hosts claim the lead just after the hour and were headed for victory until Aleksandar Mitrovic drew level six minutes to the dead.
