“We did not defend anywhere near well enough but the offensive side of our game was excellent.”
With fifth-placed Spurs losing at Norwich, Liverpool now have a six-point gap in fourth while Manchester United are 11 points behind them.
Swansea manager Garry Monk was proud of his team’s effort. He said: “I hate losing but if you have to lose you have to do it in the right way by making the other team fight right to the end. And that is what we did.”
