Jerome Boateng has criticise the Germany fans who booed international teammate Mesut Ozil during Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Cameroon.
Supporters at the Borussia Park whistled the Arsenal playmaker throughout the game following a subdued display.
And the Bayern Munich defender was left bemused by the animosity directed towards the £42.5m man.
“I don’t get it, I can’t understand it,” Boateng said.
“In that case people should not come to the stadium. That they whistle so early into the game. I do not understand.”
Germany will begin the World Cup in Group G with Portugal, in a group that also includes Ghana and the United States.
