Officers of the Kogi State Police Command at the weekend arrested a traditional ruler in the community, Atila Ajeka, and seven others in connection to the murder of a top broadcaster, Isah Edime.
The state commissioner of police, Sai’du Madawaki, who made this known to journalist said the suspects would be charged to court to prove their innocence or otherwise.
The commissioner revealed that before the ace broadcaster was killed, he had earlier reported threat to his life late last year, adding that some of the suspects were among those apprehended.
A source disclosed that there have been controversies over the rightful leader of Ome descendant union, adding that since late Isah Edime was crowned with the title of Egena Eju Attah by the Attah Igala last year, peace eluded from him as the people felt threatened that he may be recognized more by Attah instead of them.
It would be recalled that Isah, who was the former general manager of radio Benue and Kogi State was kidnapped from his house at Egume Ojikpadala by suspected assassins, and was later hacked to death by his assailants who are still at large.
