School for the Blind gets support
End Time Prayer Line, a US-based fellowship for Ghanaian residents in the US, has presented items worth thousands of dollars to the School for the Blind at Akropong.
The items included 32 bags of used clothes, four bags of rice and some toys.
Founder of the End Time Prayer Line, Elder Kwabena Asenso, who presented the items together with Desmond Frimpong Manso alias Cockroach, pointed out that the gesture formed part of his group’s outreach programme and social responsibility.
The Assistant Headmaster of the school, Joseph Atsu Homadzi, thanked the donor for the gesture but emphasised that people with disability should not be pitied, rather, they should be empathised with and supported.
‘Society often condemns people with disability. It is incumbent on every society to support the vulnerable among them. Any society that fails to support the vulnerable is a weak one,’ the assistant headmaster said.
