CATERERS OF the school feeding programme in the Ashanti Region are up in arms against President John Mahama and his NDC government.

The over 100 caterers disclosed that they have not been paid by the NDC government for their services rendered for about seven months.

The caterers believe the NDC administration ‘doesn’t care for us and the pupils that benefit from the school feeding programme.’

They said their quest to adopting a diplomatic approach to get their monies duly paid to them had also failed to yield the required results.

They added that they have been securing foodstuffs on credit for the seven months to ensure that the pupils were served with food.

About 10 of the irate caterers who spoke to DAILY GUIDE in Kumasi complained bitterly about how their creditors have been chasing them for their monies, noting that ‘we are in extreme difficult times.’

The caterers warned that the school feeding programme would be in danger if they are unable to get food on the table for the pupils.

They told President Mahama and the NDC administration to be bold and come out to tell them ‘if they can no longer sponsor the social intervention programme.’

The school feeding operators alleged that the government owed some of them a staggering GH ¢30,000.

Aside government’s refusal to settle its debt to them, the caterers lamented the rising cost of food on the market, ‘and we are appealing to President Mahama to for once listen to our cry.’

They disclosed that the government paid just a month’s of the outstanding debt to the caterers recently when DAILY GUIDE published the plight of the caterers.

The caterers concluded that the government promised them of settling all the debt ‘but up till now, we have since not received a pesewa from the government.’
