Sakordie, Shatta Wale Thrill Fans @ ‘Hands Up For Hygiene Concert’
Shatta Wale, the Ghanaian Dancehall legend, at the weekend, rocked the Trade Fair Centre in Accra at a concert dubbed ‘Hands Up For Hygiene’ with his brand of music that has won him international acclaim.
The musical concert was organized by Lifebouy to promote hand washing in Ghana as many people get infections like diarrhoea and pneumonia from not washing their hands as well as to mark this year’s Global Hand Washing Day which was celebrated on October 15.
The event attracted a number of personalities including the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Gomashie and the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour.
They all washed their hands on stage as a pledge to promote the hand washing campaign.
The highlight of the event was when the thousands engaged in a simultaneous hand washing with their Lifebuoy soap in lifebuoy branded bowls.
At the show, Shatta Wale was able to charm music fans who trooped to the venue to witness the event, giving out his best as he performed to the admiration of music fans and people from all walks of life.
The nearly 40-minute performance by the Ghanaian Dancehall king truly lived up to the hype as he kept the crowd on their feet, screaming at the top of their voices, singing, and dancing along from start to finish.
Shatta Wale, who won the heart of music fans with his stagecraft and dance skills, filled the Trade Fair Centre with members of his Shatta Movement which has a large following.
Sarkodie, whose record is yet to be broken, also thrilled fans with his fast rapping skills. He performed back to back hit songs like ‘Azonto Fiesta’.
He certainly, was at his best, as he was able to get music lovers moving and grooving to his songs. His great vocal versatility, dynamic movements and general stage charisma got the crowd applauding nonstop during his performance on stage.
