ROCKSTAR4000 will launch a major, multi-day music festival in 2014. The festival will be held in the historical town of Cullinan and aims to transform the area by introducing a powerful entertainment annuity.
The City of Tshwane, who has oversight for the town, are partnering with ROCKSTAR4000 to stage thisfirst-of-its-kind in Africa initiative that will leverage music entertainment to generate revenue, jobs and infrastructure upliftment for a town and community in need of a new means of attracting attention to its significant legacy in the history of South Africa.
The large scope and scale of the event is designed to attract attention globally as well as a very real intention to draw in interest from the African continent.
Through a multiplicity of skills development, job creation, revenue generating and marketing initiatives the event aligns with several of the City of Tshwane’s key objectives. In its launch year this initiative will also be at the heart of the City of Tshwane’s Celebration of 20 years of democracy.
Tshwane’s City Manager, Jason Ngobeni has hailed the initiative as ground-breaking and a perfect opportunity for the City to anchor 20 years of democracy celebrations in 2014 as well as contributing to the city’s objective of ensuring it promotes social cohesion.
‘The social, cultural and economic benefits to be derived from this initiative are invaluable and I’m confident that this initiative will leave a lasting legacy not only to the residents of Tshwane, but countrywide and globally’, Ngobeni said.
The festival also aligns with the City of Tshwane’s 2055 strategy by focusing on bringing about social cohesion and creating innovation hubs that build and grow opportunity for years to come.
