Relegation battle: King Faisal to go court

The General Manager for King Faisal, Nana Amankwah has disclosed that his club has decided to go to court to seek interpretation for article 39 of the GFA statutes.

The Kumasi based club was relegated after they failed to beat Berekum Chelsea on the last day of the premier league on Wednesday.

But Amankwah believes his side is not yet relegated, because there are pending protest against Aduana Stars that could easily go in their favour to aid them skip relegation and are therefore heading to the High court for interpretation of the said article which states that a club fined has within 14 days to pay or will forfeit subsequent matches.

Aduana Stars were fined GHC 500, after their protest against Hearts of Oak was thrown out by the Disciplinary Committee (DC) and Medeama who claim the Dormaa  based club failed to pay the money within the stipulated time had their protest squashed and fined GHC 300.

However the Tarkwa based club, dissatisfied with the ruling of the DC have appealed against their decision and King Faisal who have interest in the case are heading to court for clarification on article 39.

‘We are going to the High court to get interpretation for article 39, which states that a club fined has within 14 days to settle payment or will forfeit subsequent matches.

‘We are aware that Aduana Stars couldn’t meet the deadline for their payment, hence have to declared losers for two matches they played against Heart of Lions and Medeama,’ the General Manager for King Faisal told Metro fm.

Faisal joined Dwarfs and Amidaus to relegation, per the league table after match day 30 and this would be confirmed by the GFA congress.
