The Chief Executive of Ashgold Cudjoe Fianoo has warned to sue the Ghana Football Association (GFA) at the law court, following the dismissal of his club’s case by the Review Committee.
The Miners failed to turn-up for the quarter finals game against Asante Kotoko, due to a change of venue and the Disciplinary Committee after sitting on case declared them losers including a fine
Ashgold filed an appeal and the Appeals Committee of the Ghana FA dismissed their case on Thursday and the Miners who were not satisfied with the verdict went for a review, since they had three working days within which they could do that.
Surprisingly the Review Committee ruled on the case through telephone calls on Saturday by squashing Ashgold’s case to make way for the semi finals game between Kotoko and Faisal, because Kotoko per the Disciplinary Committee’s ruling were given a walk-over following the no show by the Miners.
However, the CEO of Ashgold has promised to resort to all means possible to ensure justice including the law court.
‘What the judicial bodies of the FA have done is discouragement of justice. We didn’t do anything wrong to deserve the punishment meted out to us, because we had earlier prepared our budget and the venue was Kumasi, he told Metro fm.
‘So when it was shifted to Accra, we told them to help us make the trip and the amount they promised to give us was below the estimated budget.
‘The Disciplinary Committee’s ruling wasn’t justified, that is why we went for an appeal, but our request was dismissed.
‘What really amazes me is that the ruling came on Thursday and after we had filed for a review, the Review Committee who were bent on letting the Kotoko-Faisal semi finals game come off on Sunday, quickly communicated among themselves to make a ruling by squashing our case without going through the right processes.
‘I am ready to sacrifice everything and do everything possible including resorting to the law court to overturn their decision. We witnessed it when both Hearts of Oak and Mighty Jets engaged the Ghana FA at law the court and this case is not an exception”.
Fianoo is a member of the GFA Executive Committee, which is the highest decision making body of Ghana football.
