Pre-Pilgrimage Retreat Starts
The Minister of State, FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide, has flagged off the National Pre-Pilgrimage Retreat of Chairmen and Secretaries of States pilgrims welfare board of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC).
Akinjide in her address urged the NCPC management and other stakeholders to, “unite in the midst of disagreement, and use pilgrimage as platform to influence and impact on Nigerians.”
She said the unprecedented successes recorded by the Commission over the years were due to the synergy between the NCPC and the various states welfare boards, coupled with their connection to God.
“I am happy to report that what you are doing is making appreciable impact. So I encourage you to continue the sensitization of Christians in all the states and the FCT” she said.
Earlier in his remarks, Bishop David Abioye of the Living Faith Church, Goshen City, urged the delegates to see the pilgrimage operations as an entirely spiritual exercise and should be accorded the seriousness it deserves.
