Police Post For Abompekrom

This follows the decision of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly to establish a police post in the area.

A huge container had been secured to help the police personnel protect life and property in the area.

The container was donated by AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Limited, said Ofori Agyeman Boadi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Obuasi.

The MCE disclosed this when DCOP Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Police Command and some senior police officers in the region visited the site on Friday.

The Obuasi MCE stated that he would work hard to ensure the protection of the people of Obuasi at all times.

Mr Boadi aka ‘Zuba’ described the Ghana Police Service as an important institution and charged members of the general public to support them to carry out their essential duties.

He called on the public to support the police in cash or kind.

Jojo Bebli, a Ghanaian security capo, domiciled in London, who is assisting the Ashanti Regional Police to battle crime, was also in attendance.

DCOP Kofi Boakye, for his part, commended the Obuasi MCE for continuously helping the police.

He said public support was crucial for the police to fight against crime and other illegal activities.
