Plateau APGA calls for local government elections

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Plateau State chapter, yesterday called on Governor Jonah David Jang to as a matter of urgency conduct Local Government election in the 17 local government councils of the state.

APGA made the call in a communique made available to journalists at the end of the inaugural meeting of the party’s interim state executive committee in Jos.
The communique observed that the democratic structures in all the 17 local government councils have been blatantly destroyed, stressing that “the state government should without further delay conduct elections in all the local councils.”
The communique which was signed by the interim state executive committee publicity secretary, Gambo Nbilamut also condemned what they call”the systematic neglect and abandonment of the education sector in the state where several generations of our youth are often rendered incapable of participating in the common entrance examination, NECO and SSCE examination. This we consider a sitting time bomb as those alienated youths will constitute a fertile reservoir of recruits for chaos and destruction in the not distant future.”
It further said the interim state executive committee was set to build a political platform devoid of biases of race, religion, tribe and place of origin adding that all citizens of the state were free to attend and register as members of the party.
