Pictures of crashed chopper victims out


The photos of some of the victims of the recently chopper at Cape Three Point are out as search team continues to search for the only missing person.

They include those of the missing person, Walter Agbetimevor, two of the deceased, Samuel Sambo (a Ghanaian) and one American pilot, and another survivor whose identity is not yet known.

Meanwhile, the mother of Walter Agbetimevor says she believes her son is still alive and a quick search will save his life.

Tearing Mrs. Mavis Agbetimevor told Adom News she has a hunch her son is still out there somewhere.

She is therefore appealing to the search team from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to be expeditious with the search as her son’s survival depends on it.

Walter was a Mud-Engineer with German engineering firm, Schlumberger, who were contracted by Lukoil for a job offshore.

The chopper had eight passengers; three are confirmed dead, four survived and Walter still remain unaccounted for.

Meanwhile, GCAA has dispatched eight search boats into the waters to search for the Ivorian registered chopper, which crashed 10 minutes offshore, on its way to shore.

So far they have only found debris of the, which longs to International Aircraft Services (IAS), but was hired by Lukoil to convey staff of the company to the oil fields.   

It is still not clear what caused the accident but the GCAA has launched a full scale investigation into the matter.
