Orlando Pirates coach Vladimir Vermezovic is non-committal on the future of Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda at the South African side .

Dauda made just two appearances in the 2013/14 season and is seen as very much second choice at the Buccaneers behind Senzo Meyiwa.

He was named in Ghana’s preliminary squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, is likely to get the nod for the final 23-man selection and might end up as the first-choice keeper, despite his lack of game time.

Asked whether Dauda had a future at the club, Vermezovic said that was something that would only be assessed after the World Cup.

‘Dauda will go to the World Cup and then we will see when he comes back what we are going to do,’ the Serbian coach said – hardly a glowing endorsement of the 29-year-old.

Aside from Meyiwa, Pirates have Brighton Mhlongo as another goalkeeping option.

He made his PSL debut at the tail end of the 2012/13 season.

Pirates will hope Dauda has a fine tournament in Brazil and attracts interest from elsewhere so they can cash in on what has so far been an expensive flop.
