Teachers and pupils of the Asiakwa Methodist Primary School in the Abuakwa South Constituency of the Eastern Region are worried about the rampant open defecation and open sex some uncultured people from the area had resort to in their classrooms.
They are therefore appealing to the East Akyem Municipal Education directorate to come to their rescue.
According to the aggrieved teachers of the school, the practice has been going on for long despite all efforts by the school to stop the perpetrators.
”We always have to wash the classroom before we can start work and it is affecting our studies since the waste leaves a very unbearable stench due to the open defecation even after several hours of cleaning the place,” they told this reporter.
The Assembly Member of the area, Mr Frank Aboagye, also appealed to help arrest the perpetrators of such acts in the community.
He said leaders of the community will soon form watchdog committees to help provide security for the school.
Hon. Aboagye has therefore warned the public to desist from having sex in the school’s classrooms and any other acts that can affect the education of pupils.
Meanwhile the teachers have stated that they have nothing else to do than close down the school if nothing is done to arrest the situation.
