Ogun PDP: Obasanjo wants decampees re-admitted

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has called for the re-integration of old members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun state that left and are willing to come back, saying they were only misled to break away from the party.

But the PDP governorship candidate in the last election, Chief Adetunji Olurin declared that he had not at anytime turned back returning members.
Obasanjo who spoke while receiving the leaders of the party from Ogun west senatorial district at his residence in Abeokuta, on Wednesday, observed that the misguided members were used by “the misguider” hence their action could be understood.
While noting with delight that the reconciliatory move recently embarked upon by leaders of PDP in Ogun was beginning to yield good result, Obasanjo acknowledged that many aggrieved members who had left the party were returning and expressed optimism that many would still return.
He urged PDP leaders in the state to welcome and embrace decampees when they return and warned PDP leaders from the area to be wary of moneybag politicians who go about deceiving people with money just to deprive them of a better future.
