Nzema East MCE Admonishes Youth To Be Positive Thinkers
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Nzema East Municipal Assembly in the Western Region, Hon James A. K. Baidoe has admonished the youth in his area to consider putting in place measures that would help them to become useful in the society and the nation at large.
According to him, the youth in order to achieve their future goals must strive to maintain discipline in their daily activities by taking their studies or vocation seriously to complement their success in future.
He made this appeal in a speech delivered during the annual Kundum Festival celebration marked by the Chiefs and People of both Nsein and Axim Traditional area respectively last weekend.
Hon. Baidoe mentioned that the unimaginable untapped potential of the youth can properly be harnessed if the chiefs and people of Nzemaland put in place strategies that would constitute a body of professionals with vocational, technical backgrounds and humanities who would use their expertise to provide advisory services aimed at supporting the youth as a free consultancy for them to make well informed choices regarding their careers.
This, he stressed will give them the clearer path into the future to minimize failures, disappointments, unhealthy anxieties, disillusions that plagues the youth.
The newly sworn in young MCE added that the objective of harnessing the youth for a sustainable development can have a grave setback on them if they indulge in immoral activities such as substance abuse, prostitution, armed robbery and other social vices and encouraged them to desist from engaging in acts that would serve as a hindrance to achieve their future goals.
‘Our youth must be educated on varied disciplines at the high level of institutions of learning to be equipped with the right knowledge, skill and attitude to solve the challenges that confront the society’.
He assured that his outfit in partnership with the Office of the Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira will collaborate with the various stakeholders responsible for ensuring quality education in the municipality to improve the educational system the area.
Hon. James Baidoe assured all that his doors are open for ideas, proposals and councils from all irrespective of their affiliation that would help to build the municipality to a better place for all to enjoy.
On his part, the Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency, Hon Kweku Tanekyi Kessie promised of his commitment to work together with his MCE to raise and improve the living standards of the people.
He urged the people especially the youth to respect their elders and strive to work hard in their various field of expertise to enable them earn a better living standards in the society.
Hon. Kessie further assured that his office in collaboration with the office of the Municipal Chief Executive will support any needy but brilliant individual who desires to further his or her education or vocation.
In another development, Hon James A.K Baidoe has assured the chiefs and people of Nzema East of his readiness and dedication to work hard to improve their living standards as compared to other districts in the region.
He noted that, with his youthful exuberance, he will use his office to lobby all responsible and key avenues to facilitate the facelift of the area.
Hon Baideo made these assertions during a thanksgiving service held at the St James Methodist Church, Axim last Sunday where he implored on all especially the five paramount chiefs of the area to assist him to run his office effectively, saying he is ready to take all their wise counsels and criticisms that would serve as a measuring rod in the execution of his duties.
The Superintendent Minister of the Axim Saint James Methodist Church, Very Rev Douglas K Abraham tasked the Hon James Baidoe to fear and worship God since his efficiency without God’s sufficiency is a deficiency.
He advised him to be mindful of his past and thread cautiously in his new office by always remembering God in all his endeavours as a Christian by devoting his time for God’s work and serve his people dispassionately.
