Nunoo-Mensah must produce evidence to confirm accusation – TUC
The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has challenged the National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah (rtd) to provide evidence to prove that the union is being used by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to capture political power.
“I challenge him to produce any evidence to that effect. If he is the National Security Advisor, he should come out with evidences of what he is talking about,” said the Secretary General of the TUC, Kofi Asamoah.
The National Security Advisor on Tuesday alleged that the current agitations on the labour front were instigated by the main opposition, the NPP in a bid to capture political power; a conclusion he insisted was arrived at through intelligence gathering.
Responding to these accusations on Eyewitness News, Mr. Asamoah stated the TUC “is so politically matured that it doesn’t need a political party to influence the TUC leadership to do those kinds of things. So I will suggest that we should ignore it with the contempt that it deserves.”
He described as “unfair, for anybody to think that a politician can be able to influence some of us…I am so politically matured.”
Mr. Asamoah therefore counseled his members and the general public to ignore the accusations made against the union by the National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah (rtd).
“It is interesting that such outburst will be made. I think we need to ignore it with the contempt that it deserves,” he added.
