The Americans hope to nick a first win over Ghana after two defeats at the last two editions of the World Cup when both meet in Natal on Monday.

Klinsmann said on Sunday that “I do not think it is a revenge for me. Maybe for the players who were there four years ago; they may want to get some extra kick and energy out there and for me that is fine.”

The German said “For me it is always a start on a clean sheet. We have worked hard to be here. We have prepared well and full of confidence to approach Ghana.

“Ghana is full of individual talent that we all know and it is going to be a challenge but we are prepared.”

The Black Stars, Africa’s best performers at the last two editions of the World Cup are housed in Group G with USA, Portugal and Germany.

Ghana defeated USA at the group stage in the Stars’ maiden appearance in Germany 2006 before posting a double when both met at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
