Tornadoes coach blames ill luck

Tornadoes coach, Hamza Abdulazeez, has attributed the 2-0 defeat by Kwara United of Ilorin to ill luck.

Abdulazeez, reacting shortly after the match played at Ilorin Township Stadium, on Saturday said the team came with a game plan to win but despite the assurance from the players the needed points were not acquired.

The coach said they would go back and fortify the team, correct the gray areas and move on.

“Our game plan was to win. When we spoke before the match, the boys promised to win but you know football; we lost it,” he said.

He commended the performance of the centre referee for an unbiased officiating but pointed out a few lapses on the part of the assistant referees.

According to him, it was a well contested match.

The Week 8 encounter in the Nigeria National League as expected in Ilorin was explosive and tension packed until midway into the second half that United scored the goals within 15 minutes.

Tornadoes will host Sokoto United in Week 9, while Kwara United visit league leaders Wiki Tourist in Bauchi.
