Nigeria’s cyclists were conspicuously missing in all categories of competitions in the rankings released by the International Cycling Union on March 30.
Nigeria was not ranked in the men elite, women elite, men under 23 and men juniors rankings. Nigeria was also absent in the Africa Tour as well as the team and national rankings.
Other African countries featured in the rankings include Namibia, Eritrea, South Africa, and Algeria.
Others are Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
Dan Craven of Namibia led the men elite rankings in the Africa Tour with 140.33 points to be closely followed by morocco’s Mouhssine Lahsaini with 133 points while Luis Leon Sanchez Gil of Spain ranked third with 128 points.
In the women elite rankings, only Johanssen of Sweden was listed while in the Men under 23 Africa Tour rankings, Eritrea came tops with 279.67 points followed by south Africa and Algeria with 128.67 and 120.67 points respectively.
