The management of the National Hospital, Abuja, said seven people were brought dead to the hospital during the Nigeria Immigration recruitment test at the National Stadium on Saturday.
The hospital, however, said it didn’t have the identities of victims.
It also said 35 of the 70 persons with varying degrees of injuries, taken to the hospital by the National Emergency Management Agency, have been discharged.
The spokesperson for the National Hospital, Dr. Tayo Haastrup, in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, confirmed the incident.
He said, “Seven victims were brought in dead, they were seven and not nine, as you said. We don’t have their names because they were yet to be identified. People must come to identify them because we don’t know who they are.
“We have stabilised all the people who were injured. We have about 70 persons that were brought to the hospital. Some have gone and we still have about 35 persons receiving treatment.”
