The Kebbi Government has begun the distribution of 4,000 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board forms to students as part of efforts to boost education in the state.
The Executive Director of the Scholarship Board, Dr Sahabi Birnin-Yauri, told newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
Birnin-Yauri said the issuance of the forms would be in the zonal offices and that beneficiaries must possess five credits, including Mathematics and English language.
He said efforts would be intensified to improve education, especially through students’ performance in external examinations.
“We cannot relent in helping our future leaders in their quest for education,’’ he said.
He urged the local education secretaries to ensure prudent distribution of the forms.
The Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Sama’ila Kamba, called on beneficiaries to study hard to enable them to gain admission into the higher institutions.
The commissioner was represented by the Director, Higher Education, Alhaji Bala Bello.
