President Goodluck Jonathan has assured members of the National Youth Service Corps of adequate security irrespective of which state they are posted to for the one year mandatory service.
The president said this on Thursday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede in his address which was read at the swearing in of the 2014 Batch A corps members deployed to Osun State.
Jonathan said, “On our part as government, we will do everything humanly possible to ensure your safety and welfare during this period of national assignment.”
While urging the corps members to be patriotic Nigerians, he advised them to seek to impact positively the lives of their host communities.
The president urged the corps members to avail themselves of the opportunities provided by skill acquisition programmes available at various orientation camps.
He said his administration’s goal was to give opportunities to the youths and to empower them to set up small scale businesses.
